St Joseph’s University in Bengaluru is a distinguished Jesuit institution with a legacy that stretches back to 1882. Located in the heart of India’s vibrant Silicon City, the University embodies the Jesuit spirit of Fide et Labore, meaning Faith and Toil, blending intellectual rigor with a deep commitment to human values. Founded by the Paris Foreign Mission Society and entrusted to the Jesuits in 1937, St Joseph’s has consistently been a trailblazer in higher education. It became the first affiliated college in Karnataka to offer postgraduate programmes in 1986, the first to establish a Research Centre in 1988, and one of the earliest institutions in the state to receive academic autonomy in 2005. In 2022, it attained full university status as India’s first Public Private Partnership University, inaugurated by the Honourable President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu.

Today, St Joseph’s University offers a wide spectrum of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across the sciences, arts, commerce, and emerging fields, all within an eco friendly campus shaped by research and holistic formation. With an accomplished faculty, vibrant centres of excellence, and alumni who have excelled nationally and globally, the University nurtures leaders who are intellectually strong, socially conscious, and morally grounded. At St Joseph’s, every student is valued, supported, and inspired.
