INAUGURAL OF THE IGNATIAN YEAR – 25.11.2021
The 500th Anniversary of the Transformation of St. Ignatius is a momentous time for the entire Ignatian Family. At St. Joseph`s College, the staff, students, guests and collaborators dedicated the better part of the 25th November to journey apace with the pilgrim saint, with optics set ‘To See All Things New’.
Upon commencement, Fr. Denzil Lobo SJ charted the course of the cannon ball, all the way from ‘Spain to Shantinagar’. The impact it continues to have in our lives was a thematic shared by other speakers especially: Fr. Peter Balleis SJ, Director of Jesuit worldwide learning (JWL) and a guest of the College. The Holy Eucharist set in the background of the Ignatian Year Logo, was presided by Fr. Charles Lasrado SJ, the principal of St. Joseph’s Commerce College, Bengaluru (SJCC). The angelic resonance of the SJC college choir, the solemnity of concelebrants, the efforts of the Campus Ministry and the ardour of the congregation made for a splendid start to the Quincentenary celebration of the Founder of the Society of Jesus.
