Selected candidates must first update the following documents on their admission portal before the interview. The admitted students must submit the original documents at the Admin Office:

  • Class 10th Certificate (High School) and Marks Card
  • Class 11th Certificate and Marks Card
  • Class 12th Certificate (Senior Secondary School) and Marks Card
  • Transfer Certificate from last qualified institution
  • Migration Certificate except for the Karnataka State Board applicants 
  • Two passport-size photographs and one stamp-size photograph in formal dress with a white background
  • Two Photocopies of the Online Payment Receipt
  • Valid ID proof such as Aadhaar Card / PAN Card / Voter ID Card

Candidates belonging to any of these categories -PIO / OCI / SAARC / FOREIGN NATIONALS-must submit the following documents:

  • Photocopy of Passport and Visa Details
  • Copy of PIO / OCI card (whichever is applicable and available at the time of admission)
  • Certificate of Medical Fitness from an approved medical practitioner accredited by the Medical Council of India

Admission Process: The applicants must fill in complete information on the online application form and upload all required certificates (whatever is available) and photos.

Selection Process: The candidates have to appear for an entrance test. The details of the entrance test are detailed below. The shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. There are two rounds in the interview. The dates of the entrance test and the subsequent interview will be announced on the website. Once the final interview is over, candidates have to pay their programme fee within 24 hours and the mode of payment must be online.

Entrance Test: SJUET 2024 Syllabus

Candidates will attempt a descriptive entrance test set for 50 marks in 60 minutes
The exam will have four components, listed below:

Component A: General Academic Abilities (15 marks )
Objective: To test the candidate’s capacity to read and respond to inferential/interpretative
challenge through an unseen passage (3x5=15 marks)

Component B: Writing Abilities (10 marks)
Objective: To test the candidate’s capacity to express themselves effectively in an
unstructured situation.
One writing prompt seeking a response of 250 words.

Component C: General Awareness (15 marks)

Objective: to test the candidate’s grasp of current affairs and media issues through questions
that require skillful working out of answers. Please ensure that you have read a newspaper
regularly, and are familiar with the events of the last one year.
15 questions x1=15 marks

Component D: Humanities Aptitude (10 marks)
Objective: To test the student’s awareness and readiness for the challenges of humanities
courses in a Jesuit institution.

  • Two questions carrying 5 marks each that require a capacity to reflect upon academic

experience.
To be followed by two rounds of interviews:

  • Candidates must bring records/certificates for co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements

for a rigorous panel interview to be held on the day following the written test.

  • This will be followed by an interview with Fr. Vice-Chancellor/Official nominated by Fr.

Vice-Chancellor.

  • If you are travelling to Bangalore, please plan to spend at least two days in the city.
  1. A candidate who has passed the two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by the Karnataka Pre-University Education Board or any other examination considered equivalent by the Government of Karnataka shall be eligible for admission to this programme.
  2. Students of undergraduate programmes must study two languages, out of which one shall be English and the other shall be either an Indian language or a foreign language other than English. However, with special permission from the Vice-Chancellor, students can select Additional English as a foreign language.
  • The University offers the following language courses: Introductory Kannada, Introductory French, Introductory Spanish, Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Sanskrit, French, and German.
  • Applicants who wish to study Kannada, French or Spanish as a second language but have no prior knowledge of these subjects, and CBSE and ISC students who have not studied a second language at plus two level can opt for Introductory Kannada, Introductory French or Introductory Spanish.
  • German is taught from the introductory level, and requires no prior acquaintance. Spanish is not being offered except at the introductory level.
  • For Tamil and Hindi, students need high school/PUC level competence to handle UG Tamil/Hindi courses.

Medium of instruction: The medium of instruction and examination shall be English.

  •  To claim the Karnataka category fee, the candidates should have studied the last 7 years in Karnataka.[Not applicable for OCI (Overseas Citizens of India), PIO (Person of Indian Origin), and Foreign Nationals].
  • ** To all candidates except those who have passed the 12th examinations conducted by the Karnataka Pre-University Board.

NRI fee is applicable for the full duration of the Programme for candidates who:

  • Have pursued and completed their last qualifying exam from outside India.
  • NRI and candidates who have applied under the NRI category.
