Eligibility
- Eligibility for joining the PhD in Zoology: Master's degree in Zoology/ Life Sciences/Biology/ Applied Zoology/Wildlife Biology/ Marine Biology/ Genetics/ Cell and Molecular Biology/ Fishery Sciences/ Entomology/ Sericulture with 55% marks in aggregate.
- Candidates belonging to the General Merit category should have a minimum of 55% or equivalent grade in the master's degree. Candidates belonging to the SC / ST / OBC (only Non-Creamy Layer) / Differently Abled categories to have a minimum of 50% or equivalent grade in the master's degree.

Note: Full time PhD scholars will receive a monthly stipend starting from Rs 20,000 (upto Rs 25,000) per month after the successful completion of their coursework.
Programme Objectives
- To foster a high level of critical analyses and scientific enquiry of basic and applied sciences.
- To impart a high level of research aptitude and research skills that allows the generation of new or advanced knowledge in basic and applied sciences.
- To impart advanced understanding and implementation of academic and research ethics and integrity.
- To enhance scientific writing skills and effectively communicate research findings.

- Students would gain proficiency in research methodology and assessment techniques in animal sciences
- Prepare each student to actively conduct research and teaching in the field of Zoology along with other fields of Life Sciences and in a University or a Research organization.
