Co-curricular courses offered by the department include a choice-based credit system- A Journey into the Animal World and Human Life and certificate courses on “Urban ecology and pollution abatement technologies”, “Biodiversity, Wildlife and Conservation biology” and “Entomology”. Students will undertake a research project as part of certificate courses which can take place in the labs in the department or out in the field. Graduates are working on a wide range of projects/internships in reputed research institutions. The department encourages the popularization of science by conducting training and teaching activities through the Natural Science Association (including Conferences/ Seminars/webinars/Workshops/lectures).

At the School of Life Sciences, St Joseph's University, we believe in the power of asking questions. Questions that stem from observing and pondering about the world around us, questions about biomolecules and ecosystems, questions that continue to nurture curiosity, imagination, and a spirit of exploration. Our mission is to spark a lasting interest and joy in learning, discovery and research, while equipping students with the skills and confidence to excel in academia, industry, and society. We strive to create an environment that is intellectually engaging, collaborative, and supportive - one that helps every student to continue asking interesting questions, and forge meaningful paths.
