About Me
Dr. Nida Syeda is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at St. Joseph’s University, Bengaluru. She is a Digital Humanities researcher specializing in the study of digital publics, data politics, and knowledge production at the intersection of English Studies, Cultural Studies, Postcolonial Studies, and Media Studies. Her work is particularly concerned with the ontology of emerging digital knowledge systems and the ways in which algorithms, AI, and platform governance reshape contemporary public life. With over a decade of teaching, research, and industry experience across institutions, she has worked in curriculum development, academic writing, digital communication, and interdisciplinary humanities education. Her research examines the impact of algorithms, platform governance, and data colonialism on contemporary knowledge systems and democratic discourse. Passionate about integrating computational methods into humanities teaching and research, she has conducted workshops on Digital Humanities, Python, quantitative methods, and AI in education, and developed War Watch, a computational platform for analysing international War news discourse. She actively contributes to public-facing scholarship and is particularly interested in exploring how emerging technologies reshape culture, knowledge, and public life.
