Dr. Aakib Rahman Parray is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology and Counselling at St. Joseph’s University. He earned his Ph.D. in Psychology from Aligarh Muslim University, specializing in Clinical and Cognitive Psychology. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling and a Postgraduate Diploma in Data Analysis with SPSS. His research interests encompass Clinical Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Statistical Psychology, and Research Methodology. Dr. Parray has published 13 research papers in national and international journals, including publications indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, DOJE etc along with several book chapters. His research work covers areas such as social emotions, mental health, anxiety and depression, Health issues, sustainable consumption behaviour, and psychological well-being. With over two years of teaching experience at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels, he actively mentors and supervises research scholars and postgraduate students. He has also presented research papers at several national and international conferences, including academic conferences held in India, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and international academic forums. He has developed strong international academic collaborations with researchers and institutions, contributing to cross-cultural research and collaborative publications. Dr. Parray has actively contributed to academic and professional development by organizing workshops, seminars, mental health awareness programmes, speech competitions, and research methodology programmes. His initiatives include a two-day workshop on Research Methodology, a Mental Health Awareness Week, and seminars on substance abuse awareness and prevention. He has also delivered invited lectures on stress management, student mental health, and psychological well-being. His academic and professional interests further include psychological assessment, research methodology, data analysis, emotional well-being, student counselling, and mental health awareness. He is committed to integrating teaching, research, counselling, and international academic collaborations to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of psychology.
