Research Based Activity in CH7P1 LabClass Activity25-08-2025Teaching innovation: Students were taught inorganic qualitative analysis. Then, students were asked to bring their own experimental protocol to live samples. They worked out initially individually and brought one topic each. Then this was discussed as a presentation per student in front of the whole batch. After this, the students were divided into seven groups, and each teacher, Dr Sunita and Dr Bramhaiah, had three groups under them. The seventh group was monitored by both teachers. Finally, one topic per group was selected, and students performed the experiments with their teammates. The following were the experiments: Group 1: estimation of cations and anions in tomato ketchup; Group 2: Detection of iron in double fortified salt; Group 3: Adulterants in milk; Group 4: Detection of Fe in pomegranate; Group 5: Determination of calcium in chalk; Group 6: Analysis of metal ions in sunscreen; Group 7: Analysis of metal ions in spinach plain and after boiling spinach.
